About Sentinel

A boutique advisory firm built on a specific premise: that mid-market leaders facing high-stakes operational moments require Fortune 500-grade judgment, delivered with operator-level understanding.

The Founding Thesis

Sentinel Advisory Group exists for a specific reason. After two decades of watching executives navigate high-stakes operational moments — critical accounts slipping, transformations stalling, revenue exposed — the firm's founder found that the help available to mid-market leaders in those moments was often the wrong shape.

Large consulting firms are priced out of reach for the mid-market. Generic solo advisors lack the operating depth to lead through pressure. Internal teams are too close to the problem to see it clearly.

Sentinel was built to fill that gap: Fortune 500-grade judgment, delivered with operator-level understanding, at fees mid-market leaders can actually justify.

Let's Talk.

If you're navigating a moment where outcomes matter and the cost of failure is high, we'd welcome the conversation.

Arvel Bowers, Managing Principal of sentinel Advisory Group

Arvel Bowers

Managing Principal

Arvel Bowers founded Sentinel Advisory Group to do, independently, the work he had spent two decades doing inside enterprises — protecting revenue when the cost of failure is high.

His career began in the U.S. Army, where he served ten years with the 82nd Airborne Division and rose through the non-commissioned officer ranks to separate as a Staff Sergeant — a tour that grounded his approach in disciplined execution, mission clarity, and leadership under pressure.

From the Army he moved directly into Big Four advisory at PricewaterhouseCoopers, then to Dixon Hughes. That training gave him the engagement-delivery foundation most advisors build their careers on.

He then spent the next 15 years as an enterprise operator — inside Wells Fargo in financial services, Jabil in global manufacturing, Vertex in enterprise software, WellCare and Moffitt Cancer Center in healthcare, and ConnectWise and Zelis in specialty software and healthcare payments.

Across those roles he led multi-hundred-million-dollar programs — including a $450M portfolio at Moffitt Cancer Center — and built critical-account recovery functions that have maintained 100% retention of enrolled clients. He consistently delivered the outcomes executives count on when margins are thin and visibility is high.

The combination — Big Four training plus deep cross-industry operator experience — is the uncommon foundation Sentinel Advisory Group is built on. Most advisors are consultants who have never carried a P&L. Most operators have never been trained inside a major advisory firm. Arvel is both.

He lives in Tampa, Florida with his family.
